PE wax or polyethylene wax is a type of synthetic wax derived from polyethylene,

PE wax is produced by the polymerization of ethylene,

PE wax is known for its low melting point, which makes it useful for reducing friction and enhancing the flow properties of various products.

It is used as a lubricant, release agent, and processing aid in the production of plastics, rubber, and other materials.

Types of PE WAX :

1-Non-Oxidized : This is the standard form of PE wax and is used as a lubricant, dispersing agent, and processing aid in various industries, including plastics, rubber, and coatings.

2-Oxidized : This type of PE wax has undergone oxidation, which enhances its compatibility with polar materials like PVC and promotes adhesion. It is often used in the production of PVC products, coatings, and inks.

3-High Molecular Weight : These waxes have higher molecular weights and are more commonly used as internal lubricants in plastic processing to improve melt flow and reduce friction during extrusion.

4-Low Molecular Weight : These waxes have lower molecular weights and are typically used as external lubricants and mold release agents, especially in the plastics and rubber industries.

PE wax application :
PE wax normally acts as lubricating, processing, and release properties.

1-Rubber Industry: It serves as a mold release agent and processing aid in rubber production, helping to release finished products from molds and improving extrusion and calendering processes.

2-Plastics Industry: PE wax ,polyethylene wax  is used as a processing aid in plastic manufacturing to improve the flow properties of molten plastic, reduce friction, and prevent sticking to molds and equipment.

3-Agriculture: It’s used in the formulation of seed coatings to enhance seed flow and planting efficiency.

4-Candles: In candle making, PE wax ,polyethylene wax can be used as a component in wax blends to modify burning characteristics and appearance.

5-Adhesives: PE wax can be an additive in hot melt adhesives to improve their performance, such as open time and adhesion.

6-Printing and Inks: PE wax (polyethylene wax ) is used in the formulation of printing inks, where it acts as a slip agent, enhancing print quality and reducing scuffing on printed materials.
